mark-10 force sensorsA load cell is a type of force transducer that converts force, such as tension, compression, pressure, or torque, into an electrical signal. This signal can be measured or standardized, either by increasing or decreasing the force that is applied to the load cell. Mark-10 force sensors are some of the most efficient and preferred load cells in the force measurement testing industry. Choose from a wide range of push pull sensor options, tension and compression force measurement, and miniature force sensors, for all of your testing needs.

Some of the most common types of load cells include hydraulic, pneumatic, and strain gauge. Strain gauge load cells are by far the most commonly used in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Extremely accurate, versatile, and cost-effective, these sensors feature a metal body into which the strain gauges have been secured. Depending on the manufacturer, the body can be made of aluminum, steel, or an alloy steel to provide a minimally elastic effect, allowing it to become deformed when force is exerted and return to its original shape.

S-Beam Tension and Compression Force Sensors

Mark-10 force sensors come in a variety of capacities and types. However, the Series R01 tension and compression force sensors are some of the most widely used. These ruggedly designed smart sensors are used in many different types of applications across just about every industry. The durable S-Beam design features threaded holes on two sides to allow for many unique configurations. Choose from capacities that range from 50 to 10,000 lbF; these sensors are compatible with Mark-10 indicators through a unique Plug & Test technology. The sensor can also be integrated into an existing system or mounted to a Mark-10 test stand.

Some other features of the Series R01 include:

  • compatibility with the 7i, 5i, and 3i digital indicators from Mark-10
  • ability to measure tension and compression force
  • NIST-traceable certificate of calibration included
  • ISO 17025 calibration available from CSC Force Measurement
  • accuracy of ± 0.15 percent of full scale + indicator
  • three year warranty

Miniature Force Sensors

Mark-10 also offers the Series R04 miniature force sensors, which have capacity ranges between 25 to 100 lbF. This extremely compact force measurement sensor is used for tension and compression force measurement in applications that have limited space for a standard size load cell. These Mark-10 force sensors feature outstanding mechanical overload protection and offer threaded holes on two sides for the mounting of attachments or other implements during testing configurations. The ultra-compact size of this model makes it ideal for tight testing situations where other sensors might not be practical. The features of this model match the Series R01 tension and compression force sensors, including digital indicator compatibilities, calibration certificates, and three year warranty. However, the accuracy of the miniature force sensors is slightly different, offering a ± 0.2 percent of full scale + indicator accuracy.

Push Pull Sensors

The fully enclosed smart sensors in the Series R05 are designed to be used with push and pull force measurements. They are very useful for a variety of different types of testing when a push pull sensor is required. Workplace safety testing, ergonomics testing, and general lifting or tension and compression force requirements can be achieved with these Mark-10 force sensors. Similar to other sensors from this manufacturer, threaded holes are provided to accommodate a variety of mounting configurations and attachments. Also compatible with the 7i, 5i, and 3i digital indicators, this unique Plug & Test connector holds all calibration and configuration data to effectively measure push and pull force. A rugged aluminum housing provides long-lasting strength and protection during testing. Accuracy is ± 0.15 percent of full scale + indicator, and capacity is up to 500 lbF.
